As spring arrives, our team turns its attention to one of the most visible parts of our community: landscaping. Beautiful grounds do not happen by chance. They come from thoughtful planning, seasonal preparation, and steady attention to detail.
After winter, I take a proactive approach to refreshing our outdoor spaces. My goal is to keep them visually appealing, safe, and enjoyable for residents. As the Plant Operations Director at The Boulevard Senior Living of St. Peters, I focus on the steps that help our community look its best each spring.

For our spring refresh, my team evaluates community needs through department head property walks. These walks help identify areas that need attention.
To stay organized and ensure accountability, I use a housekeeping checklist and a detailed project scope sheet. These tools help track pending tasks and completed work throughout the process.
One exciting seasonal project on our schedule is the installation of turf in the community dog park. This update will improve the appearance and function of the space. It will also create a more enjoyable outdoor area for residents and their pets.
During spring startup, we often see irrigation system concerns and patches of dead grass. Winter salt exposure can also damage certain areas of the lawn. Identifying these issues early helps us address them quickly and maintain the overall appearance of the property.
Looking ahead to next season, I plan to focus on coordination and communication with our landscaping partner. A stronger partnership will help streamline projects and improve efficiency. It will also help ensure seasonal work is completed proactively and effectively.
It is easy to see the finished product, but real success comes from teamwork. Coordination, accountability, and pride help bring each project together. These efforts ensure The Boulevard Senior Living of St. Peters continues to meet the standards residents expect while setting the tone for the months ahead.
