A Culinary Journey Built on Experience

I entered senior living after years in the food service industry. My background spans both front and back of house roles, and I gradually moved into supervisory positions. This journey gave me a strong foundation to step into the Culinary Director role confidently.

Of everything I’ve learned along the way, my management experience has proven most valuable in preparing me for this position. It has taught me how to adapt quickly, lead effectively, and ensure quality in every dining experience.

Creating Meaningful Moments Through Food

What I enjoy most about working in senior living is bringing joy to residents and guests through our dining program. Food is more than nourishment—it’s comfort, tradition, and celebration.

Each morning starts with a staffing check. If I notice any gaps in coverage, I jump in wherever needed to ensure residents continue enjoying a seamless and pleasant dining experience. Flexibility and teamwork are essential, and I believe in leading by example.

To anyone considering a culinary career in senior living, my advice is simple: be ready to wear many hats. Success in this field comes from staying hands-on, remaining open to change, and always keeping the residents at the heart of every decision.

For me, success means seeing happy residents every day.
